Last season the Falcons traveled to Minnesota and beat the Vikings in overtime when QB Michael Vick scored on a Falcons-team record 46-yard run in the extra quarter for a 30-24 Atlanta win. Vick also set an NFL-record for the highest single-game rushing total for a quarterback with 173 yards rushing against the Vikings. The Falcons will host Minnesota for the first time since opening day of the 1999 season when Atlanta and Minnesota played a rematch of the 1998 NFC Championship game.

The Falcons travel to St. Louis to face former NFC West rival St. Louis. Prior to realignment in 2002, the Falcons lost six-straight games to the Rams after being swept in 1999, 2000 and 2001. Prior to the 1999 season, the Falcons had been on a four-game winning streak against St. Louis with series sweeps in 1997 and 1998. The game marks the first Monday Night Football appearance for the Falcons since the final game of the 1999 season.

Head coach Dan Reeves, who served as head coach for the New York Giants from 1993 through 1996, will play against his former team for the fourth time since joining Atlanta in 1997. Reeves led his Falcons to a 1998 victory and then to a 17-10 win last season at Giants Stadium. The Falcons fell to New York, 13-6, in a 2000 meeting at the Georgia Dome.

Tennessee will make its second appearance at the Georgia Dome to face the Falcons. The Titans lost 23-13 in 1996 when they were known as the Houston Oilers. The visit to the Georgia Dome will be the first for Tennessee since losing Super Bowl XXXIV to St. Louis in Atlanta during the 1999 season. The Falcons have met the Titans just once since the team moved from Houston in 1997 and changed from the Oilers to the Titans in 1999. The Falcons played at Tennessee in 1999 and lost, 30-17.
